507th Tactical Communications & Control Group

The 507th was one of the first Air Force units in Vietnam and Thailand, arriving in 1962.  Based at Shaw AFB, in Sumter, South Carolina, the 507th was instrumental in establishing the tactical air traffic control system in SEA.  Retired M/Sgt. Tom Justice has written a description of the first deployment to Vietnam by the 507th entitled "How the 507th Came to the be First, and Only TAC/CON group in Vietnam."

NOTAM: Unfortunately, the 507th site has been taken down.  However, the good news is that we've received a CD with all the site information and we will be adding it to this webpage in the near future.  There are some great pictures and stories so check back from time to time to see how it's going.
