This picture and the next are cropped from the original. This shot is more to the rightand shows the new radar towers. If you look right above the "N" in Sonic, you'll see two guys waving their arms, I'm the one on the left. |

Pyramid from the Tower |
The antenna towers had just been completed but the equipment had not yet been installed. Operations was in the hut at the top of the picture. The building with the tin roof towards the top right was Admin. and hadn't been completed all that long. The guys in white shirts at the edge of the compound are playing horseshoes.

Beer Tent |
This shows a good view of the beer tent made from a parachute. What it doesn't show is the 20 cases of beer.

Too much "lubricant" |
Me (on the left) and Bob Kirkwood late in the day after too many cans of lubricant. One result was a pyramid of beer cans over 6 feet tall. Don't ask about other results... you already know.

VNAF |
We invited the VNAF to join us and most of their officers came by in mid-afternoon. It seemed to me that they were more than a little puzzled by the goings on, but I never understood why. |
